As every supercar enthusiast (and not only) could tell you, Lamborghini has a lot on its plate these days. The company is preparing the successor to the Huracan, the Urus PHEV is in the making as we speak, and is also planning a zero-emission crossover.
Previewed by the Lanzador Concept last year, the model is expected to grace the automotive realm in 2028. Rather strangely, Lamborghini doesn't refer to it as being a crossover, as it describes it as a 2+2 grand tourer with a generous ground clearance.
It sports the typical Lamborghini design on the outside by mixing some cues from existing models, including the popular Urus. On the inside, it has seating for four, and it is a coupe with two doors – or three if you're the kind of person who thinks the tailgate is a door.
What else should you know about it? Well, Lamborghini's Lanzador is also a zero-emission model. It has no less than one megawatt of power available via the right pedal. That translates to 1,341 brake horsepower (1,360 metric horsepower) produced by the bi-motor setup, with each unit powering one axle.
Overall, the Lanzador is a very exotic proposal and one that will bring the Sant'Agata Bolognese marque into the inevitable zero-emission future. For now, the electrified Revuelto helps with the transition, and so will the Huracan's successor and the plug-in hybrid Urus. The latter is rumored to retire the S and Performante versions, but we'll take that rumor with a pinch of salt for the time being.
Now, while the Lamborghini Lanzador is nothing more than a simple study at this point, it has unofficially morphed into a production model multiple times so far. However, while most of those renderings retained the crossover look up to a point, the latest digital illustrations that we came across, signed by spdesignsest and shared on Instagram earlier this week, imagine it as a sleek-looking four-door sedan.
It retains the same face, including the hood and lighting units, and still has those sexy taillamps, joined by a new diffuser and rear bumper, and rides on a set of smaller wheels that look the same as those equipping the concept. More importantly, it has more space between the axles, which would translate to more legroom for those sitting at the back. Ingress and egress were also virtually improved, as it has four instead of two doors.
Elsewhere, it is the same Lanzador that we all know, a model that would become an instant sensation at drag strips worldwide if it were to retain the stunning dual-motor setup that boasts 1,341 hp. We're certainly fans of the sedan look and think that it would be a great addition to Lambo's portfolio, one that would be a very exotic alternative to the likes of the Tesla Model S Plaid.
