It has been a while since we discussed anything from Lamborghini concerning the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. Well, now the draught has ended, though I am not sure that's for the better.
The last time that we searched fantasy land for anything related to Lamborghini, the Car Review Channel thought it appropriate to estimate how the Urus super-SUV could look like after a second facelift and with hybrid power under the hood. That's only logical, as the electrified Urus is marked as an essential step in Lambo's sustainable transformation after the Revuelto mid-engine plug-in hybrid supercar.
The partially zero emissions Urus will probably appear around the same time as the next generation Huracan, as the two are supposedly joined at the powertrain hip with a plug-in hybrid V8 setup. After that, Lamborghini will probably take its sweet time before introducing its first dedicated EV because the Lanzador electric car concept – a two-door EV crossover coupe – will only appear in production form around 2028 if everything goes according to plan.
Well, that's all happening in the real world. Meanwhile, the parallel universes of vehicular CGI have other quirky stuff in mind. For example, this virtual artist, known as Theottle on social media, has resorted to CGI slicing and dicing the Subaru Crosstrek with Lanzador DNA to create a compact EV that would turn into a competitor/sibling of the upcoming second-gen Porsche Macan EV. The Crosstrek was just a template for this hypothetical design project, and it was soon stretched and reskinned with the edgy styling of the Lanzador concept. Interestingly, during this transformation, the EV has lost a big part of its appeal because the resulting compact crossover SUV is now nothing but a regular five-door model.
I disapprove of the treatment – but as always, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and I will not hold a grudge against anyone thinking this looks like the perfect answer to Lotus Eletre-type electric SUVs. Besides, there's logic behind it – Porsche is indeed preparing an EV-exclusive lifestyle for the second-generation Macan compact crossover SUV, and an eventual Lambo sibling could easily borrow its powertrain and performance figures (at a much higher price point, of course).
On the other hand, a long time will pass before Lamborghini actually decides what to do with the Lanzador concept, as the model is not slated to enter production before 2028. Until then, you can still play with it across the CGI realm because the Italian automaker recently allowed its EV concept car to join the famous Roblox online game platform and game creation system. As such, anyone can play with the unique EV concept car years before we are supposed to drive it or whatever Lambo cooks up as a production version.
