Lambo Huracan Tecnica in Viola Pasifae Left Stranded at Auction, Ontario Dealer Takes Hit

A few months ago, we published our all-time rankings for the Lamborghini Huracan, where we looked at all 19 versions unveiled over the years, ranking them from “worst” to best. At the top of the list, meaning the more lackluster variants (if we can call them that), were the likes of the LP 580-2 Coupe and the original LP 610-4 Coupe.

Meanwhile, the top 3 was comprised of the LP 640-4 Performante Spyder, the LP 640-2 STO 60th Anniversary Edition, and the LP 640-4 Evo Spyder 60th Anniversary Edition.

We ranked the LP 640-2 Tecnica in eighth place, just behind the regular LP 640-4 Evo Spyder. Some of you might think that’s a little low, but I stand by that decision. It’s not as collectible as the original Performante (fifth place), nor is it as special as the Tecnica 60th Anniversary Edition, obviously.

Still, after nearly a decade of perfecting the Huracan recipe, Lamborghini certainly knew what they were doing with this Tecnica spec, which is why they’re so in-demand on the used car market.

Speaking of which, I’d like you to feast your eyes on this stunning 2023 Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica in Viola Pasifae Metallic. It’s got just 591 miles on the clock, and it was hoping to find a new owner via auction this past week. Unfortunately, nobody’s bid came close to the reserve set by the seller (a dealership out of Concord, Ontario). They had no choice but to reject $255,500 and keep the car.

Mind you, this is the exact same dealership that got stuck with this 2023 McLaren Artura last week, and history seems to be repeating itself. The main issue is that if you want these cars imported into the U.S., you’ll need to cover various taxes and fees – which in turn would make the purchase a lot harder to justify. Then you need to look at it from the dealer’s perspective – the vehicle already had a crazy high federal luxury tax, not to mention the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax), which in this case is $52,000.

All things considered; this car originally cost roughly the equivalent of $280,000 (USD), so it’s no wonder why they’d refuse to sell it for $255k.

Now that we’ve covered all that, let’s talk briefly about the spec. Aside from the stunning exterior color, this Huracan Tecnica also comes with a body-colored roof, staggered-width Damiso 20” wheels with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires, carbon ceramic brakes, black leather and Alcantara seats, Q-Citura contrast stitching, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

As for performance, the 5.2-liter V10 engine is good for 631 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque, with everything going to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The Huracan Tecnica needs 3.2 seconds in order to hit 60 mph from a standstill.
