The vast majority of BMW M3 and M4 reviewers complained about a couple of things but the suspension setup wasn’t one of them. Both cars are absolutely brilliant in this department along with the chassis tune and the engine/transmission combo. However, a drop in the cars’ height is almost always an improvement and these two make no exception.
That’s one of the things the new KW suspension offers to interested M3 and M4 owners. According to the company, there are now 3 different coilover kits available, from V2 and V3 to Clubsport, all of them with different characteristics.

The Clubsport coilovers seem to be the pick of the range, especially if you’re one of those people that regularly tracks his car. That’s because you’ll get such amenities like adjustable top mounts, adjustable compression (for both low and high speeds) and adjustable rebound.

Of course, if you’re not a track master, the V3 coilovers offers a good compromise allowing you to drop your ride’s height by up to 40 mm on either axle. If you’re just looking to slightly lower you car’s ride height you can just get the springs with an adjustable rate between 5 and 25 millimeters.

The difference between the systems doesn’t reside only in the different height drops you can achieve. For example, on the V3 and Clubsport variants you can adjust the rebound force with 16 clicks, plenty for even the most pretentious taste.

Furthermore, the damping force in the KW V3 and Clubsport 2-way system can be adjusted over the spread of 12 clicks, while the 3-way KW Clubsport can fit the compression damping accordingly, depending on whether you want the piston rod to travel at high or low speeds.

High-speed adjustment can be done in 14 steps while low-speed compression can be varied with 6 steps while also allowing you to adjust camber to negotiate corners more efficiently.
