Koenigsegg Agera One:1 Sounds Like a War God on Its Nurburgring Record Quest

Those of you who have been slowed down (or worse) by another driver while attending a Nurburgring Touristenfahrten (tourist days) event know how it feels like to long for having the Nordschleife all to yourself.
Well, imagine how such a story unfolds when you're not trying to set a new personal record, but an overall 'Ring lap time record for production cars. That goal is exactly what Koenigsegg is currently working on.

And we're back with another spotting of the gloriously violent One:1 lapping the Green Hell (helmet tip to Nürburgring Bridge To Gantry for the footage). While the clip is short, it still allows us to get a proper taste of the 1,341 hp twin-turbo V8's soundtrack, which is nothing short of a God's war cry.

As Angelholm explained on its blog earlier this year, attempting such a feat has hidden difficulties: "We’d like to get out ahead of the car spotters on this one, so here goes: Koenigsegg will be at the Nürburgring in the near future. Someone in comments has questioned why we need ‘months’ at the track to prepare the car. While we foresee this taking several months, those months comprise only one or two days at the track each month. We will not be testing on public days when the track is full of ‘public’ drivers. We will be testing on private days that we can gain access to,"

Remember, the target here is the Porsche 918 Spyder and it's 6:57 lap.

Speaking of the One:1, we'll remind you this is the kind of machine that can stir a man like no other. And those who happen to sit outside the One:1 circle (only seven have been build) often go to great lengths to replicate the Megawatt car's performance.

For instance, we recently showed you an Agera R customer who had his hypercar gifted with the One:1's variable geometry twin-turbo system. As a result, the tuned K machine one-ups the One:1 (no pun intended) on the power front, delivering 1,400 horses. And its driver isn't afraid to put all that power to sideways use.
