Kia has made a few adjustments to the Sportage family for the 2024 model year, and the compact crossover is now available to order featuring some novelties.
What's new, you ask? That would be the addition of LED headlights and second-row seat-mounted airbags as standard. Moreover, the SX AWD trim level was dropped, and the Korean automaker does not say why. This leaves the 2024 Sportage with fewer all-wheel-drive models, like the LX, EX, and SX Prestige, in addition to the X lineup.

These can be ordered from $28,890, $30,890, and $36,390, respectively, excluding the $1,325 destination charge and dealer fees. The lineup, on the other hand, kicks off with the front-wheel drive LX, from $27,090, and it's followed by the EX, SX, and SX Prestige. These have respective MSRPs of $29,090, $32,590, and $34,590. The X series includes the X-Line, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige and can be yours from $31,890, $36,090, and $37,890, respectively.

Opting for the most affordable version of the 2024 Kia Sportage will still get you stuff such as 17-inch alloys, rear privacy windows, LED headlights, 8-inch infotainment, 12.2-inch digital dials, smartphone integration, air-con, and an audio system. The LX adds a bit more safety gear, and the SX Prestige brings a panoramic glass sunroof, power tailgate, 12.3-inch displays, heated and ventilated front seats with electric adjustment, dual-zone climate control, Harman Kardon premium sound system, and a few other features.

Speaking of the safety gear, it comprises the Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Front Forward Avoidance-Assist, Lane Following Assist, Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Parking Collision Avoidance Reverse, Safe Exit Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and Navigation Smart Cruiser Control. Naturally, the safety gizmos vary depending on the selected trim level, as you will have to order a high spec to get the entire bundle.

Measuring 183.5 inches (4,661 mm) in length, 73.4 mm (1,864 in) in width, and 66.9 inches (1,699 mm) with the roof rack, the fifth generation Kia Sportage, which was unveiled two years ago and is made at the West Point factory in Georgia for the United States, has a 108.5 inches (2,756 mm) long wheelbase. The space between the axles is identical to its cousin from Hyundai, the fourth-gen Tucson, which comes to life in Alabama.

Regardless of the selected trim level, all versions of the 2024 Kia Sportage use the same engine. It is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline burner with direct injection, which generates 187 hp (190 ps/140 kW) and 178 lb-ft (241 Nm) of torque. The model has a 2,500-pound (1,134-kg) towing capacity with a braked trailer, the automaker claims. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid assemblies are also available for the Sportage.
