It took Kia a while to launch the facelifted Sorento in the United Kingdom, but the mid-size crossover is finally on sale. The lineup consists of the 2, 3, and 4 trim levels, each one available with a diesel, self-charging hybrid, or plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Pricing starts at £41,995 (equal to $52,990) for the 2024 Kia Sorento 2, which features 17-inch alloys (19-inch on the PHEV), rear privacy windows, a 4-inch driver display, six-speaker audio, cloth and artificial leather upholstery, and auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone A/C, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, over-the-air updates, and numerous safety gizmos.

From £46,195 ($58290), the 2024 Kia Sorento 3 becomes available. This trim level brings 19-inch wheels, LED '4-cube’ headlamps, sequential turn signals, black leather upholstery, ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Bose audio system, a wireless charging pad, rear self-leveling suspension, and more safety systems, including the highway driving assist and forward collision avoidance assist.

Topping the family is the 4 trim level, with its unique 19-inch alloys (20-inch on the diesel), black Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, digital key, fingerprint tech, head-up display, electrically adjustable front seats, electronic rearview mirror, alloy pedals, remote smart park assist, etc. Pricing for the 2024 Kia Sorento 4 starts at £50,695 ($63,970).

As we already told you, the powertrain family comprises the 2.2-liter CRDi diesel unit, which is good for 190 hp (193 ps/142 kW). Customers can also order it with the self-charging hybrid 1.6L unit, making a combined 212 hp (215 ps/158 kW), or the plug-in hybrid assembly, which enjoys 249 hp (253 ps/186 kW). The diesel uses an eight-speed DCT, and the electrified ones come with a six-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive system is standard across the range. Order books are now open in the United Kingdom, and deliveries should commence shortly.

The most affordable 2024 Kia Sorento, aka the pre-facelifted one, on sale in the United States is the base LX. It starts at $31,900 (equal to £25,275) and comes with a 191 hp (194 ps/142 kW) 2.5-liter gasoline burner and front-wheel drive. Customers choosing this variant will get theirs with LED projector headlamps, a smart key with push-button and remote start, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, smartphone integration, and numerous safety gizmos.

The 2.5L four-pot comes from the EX grade upwards, producing 281 hp (285 ps/210 kW). This trim level has 20-inch wheels, an electric tailgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, among others. The top-of-the-line X-Pro SX Prestige all-wheel drive has an MSRP of $47,390 (£37,550) and is an off-road-oriented proposal. Choosing the hybrid means paying a minimum of $36,990 (£29,310), whereas the plug-in hybrid comes from $50,290 (£39,850) and has an EPA-estimated electric driving range of 32 miles (51 km).
