Remember when the Kia Sorento used to be a mediocre SUV? One that, admittedly, was cheap enough to make people consider it over a Honda CRV or Toyota Rav4 but could also never hold a candle to its rivals. If you didn't already know, spoiler alert, those days are long over. Today, the fourth-generation Kia Sorento is nothing short of an industry titan. One that's helped facilitate Kia's rise to superstardom in the North American auto sector.
With a facelift due for the 2024 model year, an already potent SUV platform is about to be even more desirable. Using the brand's patented "Opposites United" design philosophy, Kia didn't need much to turn what was already an attractive-looking, all-time great sales leader into something leaner, more stylish, and even better value than what past fourth-generation Sorentos already were. New for the 2024 model year, the Sorento features newly designed stacked LED headlights in line with Kia's newly minted design philosophy seen in both the new EV9 and the 2024 Picanto.

The new facelift works wonders for Kia's meticulously calculated design formula, capped off by their striking and down-right contemporary new brand emblem. With subtle touches in the rear like reworked, slimmer tail lamps, all topped off by new exterior colors like Dawning Red, Midnight Blue, and the Special Dust Blue exclusive to hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants coming later in the year. Kia's figured out exactly what touches are needed to bring even more spotlight to a model that's like their bread and butter.

Add on optional 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and a tasteful car becomes downright striking. The all-new panoramic compound front screen option featuring two 12.3-inch capacitive panels makes for a sci-fi-like interior able to satisfy even the most jaded luxury car driver getting a ride to the airport in the back of one of these Sorentos. But if you prefer off-road adventuring over life as an Uber driver, the 2024 Sorento X-Line and X-Pro are here to appease the Land Rover and Jeep fans in the audience.

While rocking chunky BF Goodrich all-terrain tires on 17-inch rims from the factory paired with a beefy roof rack and a trim-exclusive, center-locking differential, the Sorento X-Line and X-Pro are just as potent as any OEM off-road SUV packages from other brands. Chunkier front and rear bumpers outside plus rugged-looking interior trim pieces add up to create a space as oozing with 4x4 appeal as any Grand Cherokee or 4Runner.

"The Sorento continues to be a key player in the success of our capable SUV lineup, and it’s notably credited as the pioneer that introduced the popular X-Line model series," explained Steven Center, COO and EVP at Kia America. “The newly added Sorento X-Pro brings it full circle, and with Kia’s latest tech and design refinements, we are confident the Sorento will not just lead the segment, but blaze ahead of it."
