Kia has unveiled their Cross GT concept SUV today at the Seoul Motor Show. The car is supposed to be positioned above the current Sorento model.
It is based on the same platform as the Kia GT concept, but larger and lower, having 4897 mm in length (213 more than the Sorento) and a wheelbase measuring 3099 mm (399 mm more). The body features a three-piece glass roof and suicide doors, while the interior accommodates four passengers in a light and airy design, with a bit of sportiness given by the bucket seats.
The concept SUV features a hybrid drivetrain, consisting of a 3.8-liter V6 petrol engine and an electric motor, which combined boasts about 400 bhp and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque. The power is distributed to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Being designed at KDCA design centre in California, it hints that the Cross GT may be angled towards the US market, should Kia will make a production version in the future.
