When Kia came out with the stunning Provo coupe concept for the Geneva Motor Show, they said it was only a design study, not intend for production. They even repeated themselves a few days into the Swiss venue, when the Irish said the name was offensive.
But secretly designers were probably hoping they did a good enough job and people would like it so they could build it. We deffinetely liked it, and so did enough people for Kia to consider building it.

“The provo is a possible niche we can venture into. Our brand is currently rational, but there’s space for a B-Coupe," said Kia's European Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning, Benny Oeyen, in an interview with Auto Express.

Beyond its carbon fiber parts, its shiny wheels and futuristic interior, we like the Provo because it's small, smaller than the Rio 5-door. The powerertrain is also interesting, combining the latest 1.6-liter T-GDI turbo with Kia's first double-clutch gearbox. The styling is also very funky, partly inspired by MINI's Coupe but still very original.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
