It seems like only yesterday we were listening to him talk about the Fiesta ST, and now Jost Capito has decided to move from Ford Motor Company to Volkswagen Group.
In case you’ve been hiding under a rock in the past decade, we’ll remind you that as Ford's director of Global Performance Vehicles and Motorsport Business Development (long title), Jost is credited with the first Focus RS. He was also in charge of the second RS, as it made the transition to the revo knuckle front suspension to deal with the unprecedented 300 hp in a FWD car.

Seeing as both the North American SVT and European TeamRS called him boss for a while, he ultimately had the last say in development of the upcoming Fiesta ST and Focus ST, which should be available next year.

Volkswagen announced today that Jost Capito will head their motorsport division starting May 1st, 2012. He takes over from Kris Nissen (51), who will support his successor during the transition phase and subsequently assist the Group in an advisory capacity.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
