Jimmy Fallon had a huge surprise the first time he drove the Ford F-150 Lightning. He saw it the moment he took a look at the load bed. It was Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, the one who put it there.
Television host and comedian Jimmy Fallon has a Ford F-150 back home. It was love at first sight for him. With two kids, Winnie Rose, now 11, and Frances Cole, now 10, he surely needed the space. All of a sudden, he woke up to having so much space that he couldn’t believe it.

The host of The Tonight Show met Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, to drive the F-150 Lightning for the first time. America's bestselling electric pickup truck is waiting for them, ready to take on the racetrack.

Jimmy Fallon is ready as well, but there is a surprise waiting for him. A popcorn machine sits on the open tailgate. Farley wanted it there to remind the comedian of his Ford pickup truck.

Fallon has a popcorn machine in the cargo area of his own vehicle. He says he put it there for the kids. Fallon also has a restored classic Manley popcorn machine in his home as well. It sounds like his "loud Irish family," as he calls his wife and daughters.

Jimmy obviously knows his way around the F-150 Lightning. He knows exactly how to deploy the step that helps him get up in the bed. While eating popcorn, he can't help being surprised as the presence of several outlets in there. He tells of how spacious the truck is: "I use mine to haul pumpkins." That's a typical dad task that he can't miss before Halloween.

Once he sees the cabin of the F-150 Lightning, Jimmy goes out of his way with the appreciations, seeming overly impressed. "You crushed the game with this one," he says, while happily slapping the leather on the driver's seat.

With a helmet and seeming overwhelmed with joy, he starts driving and honking. "Can we just go to space?" he jokes.

Once he pushes the accelerator, he's got a single tag for the truck: "insane." Jim Farley explains to him that it is the effect of the instant torque supplied by the two motors.

Even though Fallon admits to feeling like he is in.a space rocket, he did not exceed 90 mph (145 kph). The electric truck can hit 110 mph (177 kph) with the right foot on the right pedal.

He goes "Oh, my God!" A couple of times and once he gets off the vehicle, he kisses the tarmac and has one more thing to ask of the Ford’s CEO. "Would you tell my wife that I was very adventurous and sportsman-like?"
