Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon tried to set up a holiday party. But a huge winter storm knocked the power lines down. Luckily, the 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid was there to save the day.
It is just one of the advertising moments provided based on the partnership with Ford that have been showing up on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

While Jimmy and his house band, The Roots, party together and joke around when the power goes down, just when Jimmy says that it is "the best party ever" and "nothing could go wrong." Except for the lights going down and the snow machine coming to a halt. There is no way the party could go on in complete dark.

However, at the right time, as if not even planned in a commercial script, the 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid with Pro Power Onboard shows up with the load bed full of presents and pulling a trailer just as loaded.

Jimmy Fallon walks up to the driver to tell him he has an idea. Santa himself is driving the Ford. He is on his way to deliver presents to kids around the world in his cherry red Ford pickup truck.

Ford is actually advertising the Pro Power Onboard system. The feature that Ford refers to as "power you can take with you" delivers exportable power and allows owners to use their trucks as mobile generators. Three output levels are available in the cab and box: 2.0 kW, 2.4 kW, and the most powerful of all, 7.2 kW. The wattage can be tracked via the SYNC 4 screen or the FordPass App.

Everything powers up once the Pro Power Onboard system is connected. But Santa drives away in his pickup truck and, once unplugged from the vehicle, everything is in dark back again.

The Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that works in cooperation with an electric motor for a total system output of 430 horsepower (436 metric horsepower) and 570 lb-ft (773 Nm) of torque. The V6 is mated to Ford’s ten-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift manual shift mode.

The vehicle can do 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 5.1 seconds, 0 to 124 mph (0 to 200 kph) in 34.7 seconds, and runs the quarter mile in 13.6 seconds.

Available on the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trims, the PowerBoost Hybrid powertrain can be purchased for $61,020. That is the exact same price customers would pay for the vehicle powered by the 3.5-liter V6 with Auto Start-Stop Technology Engine.

This variant has a maximum towing capacity of 12,700 pounds (5,760 kilograms), which is more than what the Tesla Cybertruck can do: 11,000 pounds (4,990 kilograms).
