We knew Jeep was prepping to kill the V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392, but we didn't know when. We have the official confirmation that the model is being phased out after the 3,700 units of the aptly named Final Edition roll off the line.
Unveiled a few moments ago, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition stands out next to the regular model by featuring a few extras. However, one will have to be a Jeep connoisseur to tell it apart, as it will simply fly under the radar for the average Joe.

Some of the updates include the special decals applied to the front fender vents and hood. It rides on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels finished in bronze, which were shod in 35-inch all-terrain tires from BFGoodrich. It also benefits from an 8,000-pound (3,629 kg) winch, has a half-inch lift kit, and heavy-duty rock sliders and a triple loop grille guard that came from Mopar's portfolio.

Also unique to the Final Edition version of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 are the Mayan gold stitching inside, the Tupelo highlights, and the black Nappa leather upholstery. This model gets performance seats with 12-way power adjustments, a special shifter medallion, a swing gate plaque, and more Mopar goodies, including the fold-out swing gate table and 83-piece toolkit. The automaker says the air compressor is optional.

Deep down, we suspected Jeep's last V8-powered Wrangler wouldn't benefit from a power boost, but we still hoped it would. Thus, the 6.4-liter V8 still pumps out 470 horsepower (476 ps/350 kW) and 470 pound-foot (637 Nm) of torque. It has the same automatic transmission with eight gears, a four-wheel drive system, a full-time active transfer case, and so on. It takes 4.5 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour (97 kph) from zero and deals with the quarter mile in 13.0 seconds.

Jeep has started accepting orders for the new Wrangler 392 Final Edition, which is limited to 3,700 units worldwide. Out of these, 3,300 are destined for the United States, 300 for Canada, and the remaining 100 for the rest of the world.

In our market, it starts at $99,995, excluding the $1,895 destination and delivery charge, $7,855 more than the MSRP of the regular Rubicon 392. Assembly will kick off in the second quarter of the year at the Toledo factory in Ohio, next to the rest of the JL generation Wranglers.

On a final note, the Stellantis-owned brand states that all versions of the Wrangler have received a few enhancements for the 2024 model year. These include the standard 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, side curtain airbags, the seven-slot grille, and a few other things. So, are you sad to see the V8-powered Wrangler drive off into the sunset?
