Superyacht builders are constantly analyzing the current trends in the yachting world in terms of innovation, design, and technology, as well as owners' demands and expectations, in order to incorporate the best features into their new designs. ISA Yachts has done the same and has come up with a spectacular new yacht that has the potential to spawn its own unique trends.
Aptly called Unica, the new project is a 131-foot (40-meter) semi-displacement and full-aluminum superyacht with a draft of just 7.2 feet (2.2 meters). It is the product of a long and fruitful relationship between the technical department of Palumbo Superyachts and the talented designer Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design.

Founded in 2001 specifically for the construction of innovative, high-end superyachts, ISA Yacht is a distinguished shipyard part of the Palumbo Superyachts group. Over the past two decades, the Ancona-based yard has become a market leader that prides itself on efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

The newly-revealed ISA Unica 40 superyacht, whose name means "unique" in Latin, has been described as "the epitome of contemporary trends" by the Italian builder of forward-thinking watercraft and is said to redefine the standards of excellence in its sector with exterior areas characterized by lavish spaciousness and interiors that invite relaxation in a glamorous ambiance.

As mentioned, it draws inspiration from the latest yacht design trends, and some of its competitive advantages are the focus on maximizing functional spaces and the fact that it offers more generous volumes compared to other models on the market. For instance, the vessel boasts lengthy exterior deck spaces, expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing that ensures spectacular views, and luxurious living quarters that would satisfy even the most demanding owners.

Unica 40 is a modern vessel through and through, blending classic and more contemporary design cues. The exterior is best defined as fluid, with a harmonious interplay of full and empty spaces that create a sense of dynamism. The designers' aim was to offer guests on board the possibility to enjoy unobstructed ocean views wherever possible. For a balanced look, the yacht boasts clean lines that flow both towards the bow and the stern, creating a streamlined profile.

Another priority was to create both social and private areas in order to guarantee that guests on board find everything they need for entertainment, socialization, and relaxation.

The yacht's three decks are tiered towards the stern and gradually slope toward the water, creating expansive open-air spaces for an authentic yachting experience. There is a generous sunbathing area for guests to bask in the sun, a large swimming pool, and an infinity cockpit with a glass balustrade that allows for seamless views of the surrounding seascape. It all looks like a luxurious retreat, with carefully chosen furniture pieces and partially covered outer areas to give guests a welcome break from the sun's rays.

For their dining needs, guests can choose between a formal dining area on the main deck suitable for ceremonious events and an al-fresco option on the upper deck cockpit better suited for more relaxed, friendly meals.

Another standout feature of the new vessel is the spacious bow surface on the upper deck, which is equipped with sun pads and an "entertainment space" and can be used as a primary sunbathing spot. There is also a 52-foot (16-meter) fly deck with impressive facilities, including two sunbathing areas, loads of beautiful plush lounge seating, a dining table, a sit-up bar, and a round Jacuzzi.

The opulent interiors, meanwhile, have been designed to provide maximum functionality and comfort for an improved onboard lifestyle. The carefully selected materials and furnishings create a plush ambiance, giving off the vibe of a luxury hotel rather than a recreational watercraft to sail the high seas. The yacht's generous interior volume allows for a four-guest stateroom layout comprising three VIP suites with double beds and one guest stateroom with twin beds. There is also accommodation for up to seven crew members.

The owner of Unica 40 will benefit from a dedicated area located forward on the main deck. Apart from a luxurious master cabin, it includes an office, a lounge with vanity, a walk-in wardrobe, and a spacious bathroom. Large side windows flood the owner's space with natural light, and a sliding door separates the sleeping area from the rest of the facilities, guaranteeing maximum privacy.

In terms of interior design, the renderings reveal a contemporary look with a neutral color palette of white, gray, and blue, as well as soft textures that help create a soothing atmosphere and a feeling of intimacy.

In terms of propulsion, the new Unica superyacht is powered by two 1,432 kW MTU engines that will propel it to a top speed of 20 knots and will enable a cruising speed of 15 knots, with a range of over 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) at a speed of 12 knots.
