Most car enthusiasts love to stand out in a crowd, one way or another. That's why most of them resort to custom wraps, tuning, or buying rare cars from the very beginning. And for some, owning a "normal" supercar just won't cut it; luckily enough, there are supercar tuners around to sort things out.
If you're thinking Porsche, then RUF, 9FF or Gemballa will spring to mind. While the founder of the company, Uwe Gemballa sadly passed away almost ten years ago, his legacy is carried out by his creations. One of the most astonishing ones is undoubtedly the Gemballa Mirage GT.
Now, we all know how spectacular the Porsche Carrera GT is even in its stock form; after all it's got a Formula 1 inspired V10 engine and its design is unmistakenly amazing. But the Gemballa program just dialed things up to 11 and transformed an already very special car into something that looks like it could easily break the sound barrier if it wanted to.
Only 25 of these vehicles have been built, and we all know that at least one of them is no longer around after a crash earlier this year. Vlogger Shmee150 was given the keys to one of these vehicles, which is currently available for sale up at Al Ain Class Motors, and even though he had access to many supercars in the past, he was visibly excited about being able to drive such a machine.
You just have to close your eyes while the video plays, and you can almost imagine watching a Formula 1 video from back in the day, as the Youtuber only gently pushes the throttle without making use of the full potential of the car, which is capable of sending 670 metric horsepower (661 bhp) to the rear wheels.
This car was built in 2007, and has only been driven for a little over 3,000 miles (4,800 km) during all these years. With all the upgrades provided by the Gemballa program, the souped-up Carrera GT will hit a top speed of 208 mph (334 kph) - for anyone who's daring enough to actually give it a go.
While there's no price displayed on the seller's website for this car, we wouldn't be surprised to see it go for up to $2 million, given the low mileage, as you can find this kind of vehicle with four times as many miles going for $1.5 million. The only question is, would you rather have this one or would you go for a Gemballa MIG, which is based on the Ferrari Enzo?
