General Motors claimed the top spot – again – last year for its performance across the US automotive market. With 2.6 million vehicles, it copiously outperformed Toyota (2.24 million) and Ford (2 million).
Its total sales were up no less than 14% as it has the crown across commercial fleet deliveries, the truck and SUV market, the full-size truck sector, full-size SUVs, and affordable CUVs. Of course, the big battle is between Ford's F-Series, which still reigns supreme when counting only the singular nameplate, and Chevrolet's Silverado, which needs GMC Sierra's help to reach a higher tally.

On the other hand, we noticed an exciting uptick in Cadillac's ailing sales – up 9% compared to 2022- with the best total deliveries since 2019 and some new records under its belt. The latter include the best year for the CT5 sedan and the greatest performance from the V-Series and Blackwing models, which jumped no less than 55%.

Interestingly, Cadillac's CT5 – not the Escalade or a crossover SUV – was probably crowned its best-selling model worldwide, mainly thanks to China. However, at home in America, the CT5 jumped 17% compared to 2022, and things are only getting better as the 2025 CT5 update was recently joined by the refreshed 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blacking with spectacular upgrades across the board.

Well, if you ask the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, this is precisely the ripe time to add some more passenger cars to Cadillac's roster. Well, at least across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, if not in the real world. More precisely, Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media) is a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm, and recently he envisioned the potential of bringing fresh two-door coupe models into the Caddy range.

The pixel master thinks that the American luxury automaker could find a use case scenario for both a compact and a large-class Caddy coupe if they entered the lineup in the new IQ range where soon enough there will be models like the Lyriq and Celestiq, Optiq, Vistiq, and the mighty Escalade IQ. Alas, a couple of coupe models weren't enough for this CGI expert's imagination. Instead, he also cooked some accompanying Cadillac convertibles – a small, compact model that could fight the BMW 4 Series Convertible and also a "larger 4-seater model, a big, traditional" Cadillac 'Vert.

Of course, "this is a big stretch." The author knows these are merely wishful thinking ideas – Cadillac has a long way to go before adding even more zero-emissions vehicles to the roster. As for now, it needs to concentrate on bringing to market the ones it has already announced. Plus, we really hope that by the time the smaller Optiq, three-row Vistiq, and the massive Escalade IQ arrive at nationwide dealerships, GM has finally sorted out the many issues plaguing its BEV3 and Ultium models.
