Although Holden will no longer be manufacturing automobiles by the end of 2017, its performance division, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), says it won’t go out of business.
The announcement was made by the company managing director Phil Harding, who said that HSV won’t stop delivering high performance vehicles. However, there are no details to what HSV might be working on once Holden manufacturing is axed.
“Our business at Clayton has been providing excitement to the auto industry for the last 26 years and we don’t plan to stop. Our product offering has been evolving constantly and will continue to do so. Change is not new for our business and we will continue to adapt, successfully, to a new operating environment,” Harding said in a statement.
HSV is now offering a range of Holden VF Commodore vehicles under the Gen-F moniker. The lineup includes the sedan, wagon, ute and the range-topping GTS that comes with a supercharger 6.2-liter V8. HSV is also selling the Senator Signature and the Grange, the latter a Holden Caprice-based vehicle that rivals the BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8.
