Can you believe it's been almost three months since Dodge unveiled the mighty 2025 Charger? The model follows in the footsteps of the Daytona SRT Concept shown two years ago, and it's an important step into the muscle car future for the Stellantis-owned brand.
While Ford sticks to the good-old ICE recipe on the S650 Mustang, which comes with EcoBoost and V8 firepower, and GM retiring the Camaro and supposedly turning it into a battery-electric sedan for the next generation, Dodge has launched both coupe and sedan versions of the 2025 Charger, with ICE and EV power.
We have yet to learn its secrets, as we'd have to jump inside it and take it out for a spin to learn if it is any good and worthy of the iconic nameplate. However, we suspect it is a dream-ish ride in the top-of-the-line configurations. Moreover, knowing how Dodge rolls, it's probably a matter of time until we see a version with a four-digit output. After all, the Demon 170 needs a proper successor.
One thing that probably won't impress is the interior build quality. The automaker needs to keep the cost in check, so the all-new 2025 Dodge Charger likely still has some cheap plastics here and there. But that's alright, as so does the latest iteration Ford Mustang, and if you want premium build quality, you should turn to something like the two-door fixed-roof versions of the BMW M4 and Audi RS 5.
Nevertheless, the new Charger is a more connected vehicle that features lots of technology gear, including a widescreen infotainment system and a tablet-like digital gauge cluster behind the multi-function three-spoke steering wheel. There is also a generous (for a muscle car) range of upholstery and trim, so configuring your ideal 2025 Charger should be rather easy.
On top of that, we think some tuners are already working on their own ideas when it comes to this model's cockpit, so it is a matter of time until we see one with a reupholstered interior. In the meantime, Nihar Mazumdar took to Behance to release a rendering of a more upscale version of the 2025 Dodge Charger with a few simple yet effective updates.
As you can tell, the muscle car retains its overall layout and amenities and features brown leather upholstery wrapped around the seats, center console, dashboard, pillars, and part of the door cards. The latter also sport some wooden inserts for a classier feel. Overall, we think this idea could be on to something, as it will probably inspire certain tuning companies to come up with a similar interior look.
So, if the new Charger was (or is it?) on your shopping list, would you eventually give it a more upscale interior similar to the one in the rendering shared above?
