One-make racing series are nothing new. It's a great form of grass roots motorsport where everybody has the same thing, so nobody is at a disadvantage. Plus, it's a good chance to see dozens of examples of your favorite car together, which in my case would either be the Clio RS or the SEAT Leon Cupra.
But the Japanse like to do things a little differently. Even though Honda makes the awesome NSX and will enter races with it, they also organize a one-make racing even unlike anything we've ever see. It's called the N-One Owner's Cup and features cars you wouldn't normally associate with the track.

That's right, the grid is made up entirely of the new N-One, which is a cute little 5-door kei car. Essentially, the laws imposed by the local government make any kei car a box on very small wheels. The engine can't exceed 660cc and even though turbochargers are used, total output is limited to 64 PS. And despite having room for four adults, the tiny Honda is limited to a total length of 3.4 meters or 11.2 feet.

What's even funnier is how excited the commentators are about what's going on. Even though the cars don't appear to reach 100 km/h and suffer from terminal understeer and use CVT gearboxes, she uses words "rocket start". How exciting!

The N-One Owner's Cup has cheap cars that cost a dime to repair. It also comes with some crashing and you could even consider this adrenaline packed action. All it needs now are some sexy umbrella girls.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
