Seeing Keith Sutherland take the wheel of the red Vauxhall Astra probably triggered the Hollywood alarm since we now see none other than Will Smith starring in the most popular auto show on television. Yet seeing Forbes’ most bankable star worldwide driving a regular car sure made us curious to watch this Sunday’s Top Gear episode.
As of last year, 17 o the 21 films in which he has had leading roles have accumulated worldwide gross earnings of over $100 million each, five taking in over $500 million each in global box office receipts. Just put it this way, Will Smith’s films have grossed $6.6 billion in global box office. How about that for a successful actor, right?

Still, BBC found the resources to invite him on the network’s most popular show. The two-time Oscar nominated actor just posted an image of himself posing next to The Stig, quoting they’ve been burning some rubber on the track. Just a regular teaser for this weekend’s Top Gear Series 22, episode 4, of course. Yet, we can’t say he hasn’t got our attention.

The 47-year old actor has some really big shoes to fill since last weekend we’ve witnessed the impossible, Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo set a time of 1:42.2 in the Suzuki Liana which made him the F1 driver in a reasonably priced car to beat Lewis Hamilton’s time. That’s quite a huge record to brake.

On the other hand the celebrity invited before the professional racer, Keither Sutherland wasn’t that good at braking any records. Neither was Ed Sheeran who doesn’t even have a driver’s license so we’re pretty sure Will Smith will manage to handle that steering wheel even if it’s on the wrong side. Or is it the right side?
