The world has apparently moved on and nearly forgot about the old BMW E9x M3 models. Not the guys from G-Power though, that are seemingly getting more orders than ever for their supercharger kits that increase the power levels of the S65 engine to unbelievably high amounts.
Sure, they didn’t overlook the F8x M models either and have recently introduced their own take on a tuning kit for the S55 engine. Their Bi-Tronik 5 module will take the power output to 520 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque and that’s a hefty increase over the stock 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque.

Getting back to the matter at hand here, the guys are saying that the demand is getting higher and we can see why. The prices for the E9x models are dropping since the new ones have been introduced and more and more people can afford them. Furthermore, they want a V8 instead of an inline 6 and more power to go with it.

G-Power is actually one of the best tuners out there for the S65 engine and their SK II CS kits are in high demand now. The updated version they just introduced can take the power output of the 4-liter V8 up to 630 HP and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque.

The performance figures are drastically improved and instead of using the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) benchmark, the tuner is so proud of its creation that it’s measuring it on a zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) basis. Yes, that particular sprint will take just 10.5 seconds to run. The top speed is also unrestricted now and claimed to be around 330 km/h (205 mph).

Of course, all of this comes with a price. Apart from the actual car you have to buy you also have to pay €13,500 for the SK II CS TU kit that doesn’t include a highly recommended titanium exhaust that will also cost €4,651 excluding VAT.

That’s around €18,000 for the tuning parts alone and you really have to want that extra performance to get it. Chip in the cost of an M3 that starts at around €20,000 in Europe and you’re looking at €38,000 at the very least. Is that too much? Keep in mind that the new one costs €72,000 to begin with and doesn’t have a V8 and that amount of power. G-Power might just be worth the trouble...
