More and more voices claim that the Moto2 series should drop the Honda engine as the sole option for the entries. In response, rightsholder Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta says the proposal is being thoroughly analyzed.
Honda's Moto2 engine deal expires at the end of the 2015 season, and Ezpeleta says that the possibility of running more engine makes in the class is one thing Dorna is willing to discuss.

Dorna could allow multiple engine manufacturers to deliver their power units to willing Moto2 teams in case the costs will not increase, Ezpeleta adds.

Such a move would increase competitiveness in the intermediate class, as Honda, KTM, Mahindra (Suter), Caterham and the rest of the manufacturers will be pitted against each other and the series would definitely benefit from this.

KTM and Suter have been quite vocal regarding the Honda engines affair and both promised they will come up with better alternate solutions.

However, Ezpeleta does not look too eager to announce such major changes and says a decision will be made by the end of the year, leaving manufacturers with a whole 2015 season to ready their engines.
