As we promised earlier today, we're bringing you fresh photos of the 2014 Yamaha MotoGP machines. The fastest to show his new ride was 9-times World Champion Valentino Rossi. Whether this is a discrete sing of support the House of Iwata has for the nine-time world champion or pure coincidence is anyone's guess.
The livery is brighter than that of the 2013 bike, with a lot more white on the front cowl making the bike look somewhat lighter. The overall graphics design remains pretty much in the same vein we got used to through the past season.

Somehow, the 2014 iteration of the M1 prototype looks lighter and more agile. Of course, this puts a smile on our face, as we are sliding into the territory of the Doctor's fans' dreams. The final proof of how good the new M1 actually is will be make on the circuits around the world.

Unveiling the bike in Indonesia is only natural for Yamaha

The bikes have been unveiled in Jakarta, Indonesia, one of the main Southeast Asian markets for Yamaha, and a country to which both Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi have traveled often for official Yamaha business.

Indonesia is also the place where Yamaha conducts a very lucrative business, as the local plant delivers a lot of small-displacement bikes and scooters for the markets in the region.

The Indonesian Yamaha motto, Semakin Di Depan can be seen on the belly of the bike, and on the liveries of both Rossi and Lorenzo. A rough translation to English reads "Ahead of everyone", but it remains to be seen whether the 2014 YZR-M1 will bring Rossi another series crown, possibly his last. Or will it be a more favourable companion for his teammate?

MotoGP debuts this year in Qatar, at the Losail circuit in the desert outside the capital Doha, on Sunday, March 23.
