Honda Accord Crosstour Finally Revealed!

The Japanese manufacturer has finally revealed details on the much anticipated 2010 Accord Crosstour, showing the rest of what we saw so far in the teaser photos. The details, however, are way poorer than what we expected.

Just as expected, the CUV is derived from the Accord Sedan, showing the Accord’s defining styling features.

The CUV however, comes with a bolder front grille, wedge-shaped C-pillars and an aggressive rear stance. The aggressive looking design is also pointed out by the roofline, which narrows smoothly into the rear of the vehicle.

"Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord line-up by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling while also adapting to dramatic shifts in the light truck marketplace," said Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

"The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour accomplishes that by offering a modern interpretation of a CUV while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan."

"We know SUV buyers like the commanding view of the road that comes with a high eye-point and like the comforts of living with an SUV," said Berkman. "This vehicle meets the needs of buyers looking for those attributes yet at the same time want an image that is different from a conventional SUV."

The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour is scheduled to go on sale this fall, with additional details, such as the engine configurations, performances, pricing and interior specs to be revealed later this year, most probably at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
