Honda Accord Crosstour Teaser Released

Japanese manufacturer Honda released a teaser shot of the upcoming Accord Crosstour, prior to the official unveiling of the crossover on September 1. Additional details are yet to be released, yet with some ten days remaining, Honda is poised to leak both new photos and information about the newcomer.

"An all-new crossover vehicle based on the award-winning Honda Accord will go on-sale in the fall of 2009 as the "Accord Crosstour," American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. This new addition to the Honda lineup will be sold as a 2010 model. Additional information will be announced later in the year," the Japanese manufacturer said in July when the crossover first stepped into the public's eye.

According to Motor Trend, the crosstour will be powered by an MDX 3.8l engine, the one found in the ZDX. The two 2.4l four cylinder engines (developing 177 and 190 hp) are also said to make it under the hood of the new crossover, as does the 3.5l V6, with an output of 271 hp.

And that's not everything coming from Honda this year. The Japanese are already rumored to be working on the coupe version of the Accord, expected to join the range between the TSX and TL. Unlike with the Crosstour, some details are on the table about this version. According to initial information, the coupe will be powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine generating somewhere around 200 horsepower.

As for current generation Accord, Honda announced the introduction of new features for the range, including an expanded application of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink on vehicles equipped with leather seating surfaces.
