While some people expected (and hoped) it would eventually die down, the hype surrounding tiny living is actually rising, with many seeing compact homes as a viable solution for densely populated residential areas and an answer to higher rents and the growing demand for more sustainable housing alternatives.
The growing interest in the minimalist lifestyle promoted by tiny houses has motivated builders to develop ingenious designs that fit every taste and need. Now, even large families can consider living in a tiny house without throwing comfort out the window, as there are plenty of compact dwellings that look just like traditional homes on wheels.

Have a look at the Hope Meadow design from California-based builder KJE Tiny Homes and you'll understand what I mean. This tiny house was built on a gooseneck trailer and filled with practical living solutions. It includes a spacious living room, a gorgeous kitchen, two decent-sized bedrooms, and a spa-like bathroom inside its tiny structure. It's perfect for those who want to reap the benefits of tiny living and still enjoy the typical creature comforts of a standard house.

Gooseneck tiny homes are the most convenient option when it comes to spaciousness, and the beautifully-crafted Hope Meadow is living proof. And if you add a roof-top deck and a closet/laundry room into the mix, you've got the recipe for luxury living on wheels.

Measuring 40 feet (12.1 meters) long and 10 feet (3 meters) wide, this tiny dwelling is built on a triple-axle gooseneck trailer and is finished in a blend of metal and cedar cladding, painted in white and gray. KJE Tiny Homes specialize in crafting custom homes on wheels, so each of their designs is unique and has special features requested by the owners. This one, too, was made to order, and its standout feature is the open-air deck/balcony on the roof.

It can be accessed via a vertical ladder installed on the wall at the back of the house and features a wooden railing for safety. It is a nice feature that allows the owners to enjoy nice views of the surroundings and spend the evenings with friends and family watching the sunset.

A beautiful red door leads inside Hope Meadow, revealing a bright, spacious interior built with high-quality materials and fitted with premium appliances. The layout is nothing revolutionary. On the contrary, the designers went with the typical gooseneck layout where the kitchen takes center stage, while the living room sits at the back, and the master bedroom is in the extra space provided by the gooseneck. There is a secondary bedroom in the loft above the common area.

The living room is large enough to accommodate a sofa and an entertainment center. It has windows on all sides, which make it bright and airy, and it discretely transitions to the kitchen with a cleverly-integrated breakfast bar that seats two.

It's no surprise the kitchen is the focus here, considering Hope Meadow was built for a family, but the crew outdid themselves this time. The kitchen is not only massive but also gorgeous and accoutered with all the appliances you could ever ask for. It has plenty of base and upper cabinets painted in a modern anthracite shade contrasting the pristine white walls and backsplash. Functionality is ensured by the multitude of appliances, including a full-size range, microwave, large farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and a huge double-door fridge.

An L–shaped staircase with integrated storage leads to the lofted bedroom, which offers a private sleeping space thanks to a dividing wall.

The master bedroom sits on the gooseneck platform at the opposite end of the house and boasts two levels. The owners opted to use the larger area for a closet/laundry room and the loft above the bathroom for the actual bed. Two floating stairs make getting into bed easier. This is a great configuration for the available space, as the first level offers enough convenient standing height to move around.

Back to the main floor, we have the bathroom, which is as gorgeous and functional as all the other areas of this house. It is not only designed to meet your sanitary needs but also features ample storage for your essentials and large counter space. A flush toilet, a 4-foot shower stall with glass walls, a sink, and a beautiful framed mirror complete the design.

The white walls, light wood floors, and the myriad of windows throughout make all the spaces in this tiny home feel open and not cramped at all. Moreover, the shifts in elevation are a great trick to define and separate areas.

Since Hope Meadow is a custom-made tiny dwelling, no pricing information is available. But whatever the price, this spacious and beautifully-designed home on wheels is inspirational for families who want to downsize and experience the freedom of mobile living without sacrificing comfort and luxury.
