You might think we’re crazy, looking over some of the photos we post here but some cars actually deserve a lot of attention, even though they’re not the newest Joes in town.
If you’re a collector, you know this better than anyone. In that kind of business, the rarer the item, the better. That’s how you end up paying thousands of dollars for cars that are over 30 years old and have the performance to match a Corolla these days. It’s the exclusivity that gets you.
In this regard, there are few M3s out there about which you can say they are exclusive. In the US, to say goodbye to the E92 M3, BMW decided to launch a limited run of cars that would be all frozen. No, not like the musical or cold as in taken out of the freezer, as in painted.
They decided to create Frozen White, Red and Blue models, 150 in total. That’s right, all of them. Out of the bunch, the White and Blue models were the most popular while the Red ones were least ordered. That means, the car we’re about to show you is extremely rare.
Prices started at $76,395 when they were new but you could throw a couple of extra options in if you’d like too. However, they were already fitted with plenty of kit that included the Competition Package, Premium package, Novillo leather and a carbon fibre roof.
That was quite a good deal, considering the limited-run character of the models. However, these days, we’re willing to bet a lot of money that you’d have to pay even more to get your hands on one.
That’s because they are using the last naturally aspirated engine ever made by BMW, the S65 4-liter V8 that is absolutely stunning to listen to and drive. Furthermore, not many people are willing to let theirs go too easy. If you’ve fallen in love, you’d better start saving up.
