Ford Mustang Gracefully Hovers Above Parisian Streets in Mesmerizing Rendering

We don't really need an excuse to stare at an image of a classic Ford Mustang (probably a 1967 model, in this case), and that's because the famous pony car might just have one of the coolest designs ever.
The image reminds me of those old stereoscopic goggles that allowed you to see in 3D way before the current technology had been developed. That's probably because almost all the stereoscopic cards I had growing up had images from Paris. It's also why I could tell this was taken in the French capital even before reading the balloons - I have an intimate connection with Paris from all those hours spent starring at the same few dozens of shots.

It's the little things that give it away - the cobbled stone, the shape and details on the lamp posts, the sculptures on the fountain - oh, and let's not forget about the Eiffel Tower in the background. Reading the text on the balloons tells us the image was snapped in 2018, the year the "Mondial de l'Automobile" celebrated its 120th edition.

So, it's not an old picture, despite everything in it looking like it is. That's all the merit of its author, Olivier Zwilling, who managed to give his creation a captivating atmosphere of an alternative universe that seems so familiar and yet so different.

If at some point in our past there was a junction where we could have gone another way that would have led us here, I'm sorry to say it, but we messed up. Can you imagine getting up in the morning to see this waiting for you in the driveway? Not to mention the impeccable ride quality that would make a Rolls-Royce blush.

Sadly, this is the only shot of Olivier's retro-futuristic flying Mustang, but sometimes one image is all you need. Instead of ten average ones, it's better to have just the exceptionally good one, and those are precisely the two words we would use to describe the artist's work.

This one is not about putting crazy aerodynamic elements or an aggressive widebody kit, but rather a much more subtle glimpse into an alternate universe where wheels are a thing of the past and cars can float above the ground. Well, at least classic Ford Mustangs can because the Miura behind it very conveniently has both of its wheels - or the place where its wheels would have been - hidden from our view.
