Now that the redesigned 2015 Ford F-150 has been fully revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, we best most of you truck enthusiasts out there are wondering how will the SVT Raptor version of the next-generation pickup will look like.
Well, it seems that we won’t find out any time soon, as the Raptor was not included in Ford’s new F-150 lineup for the 2015 model year. At least that’s what Automotive News claims, quoting an unnamed source at the company’s Dearborn truck plant.
The news shouldn’t take you by surprise, as the 2015 F-150 was unveiled with four engines, with the 6.2-liter V8 fitted in the 2014 SVT Raptor missing from the lineup. This doesn’t mean that the new Raptor can’t be equipped with a beefed-up 5.0-liter V8, but we won’t know for sure until the Blue Oval company says anything about the future of its high-performance truck.
We do hope that the next-generation F-150 gets a Raptor badge, especially now that Ford developed a 700-pound lighter aluminum-alloy body.
In related news, Ford decided to discontinue the F-150 Tremor sport truck once the next-generation model goes on sale.
