Word has it Ford Motor Co. will discontinue the F-150 Tremor sport truck after the 2014 model year, when the next-generation aluminum-bodied full-size pickup will go on sale.
Introduced only a few months ago, the F-150 Tremor will not be renewed when the all-new F-150 goes into production in the fourth quarter of 2014, Ford truck marketing manager Doug Scott told Automotive News on the sidelines of the Detroit Auto Show.
Developed as an on-road counterpart to the range-topping SVT Raptor, the Tremor, a short-wheelbase and regular-cab truck, is powered by a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
The vehicle can be had in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations and comes with a launch-optimized 4.10 rear axle, electronic locking rear differential, 20-inch flat-black wheels and custom body graphics.
