Ford Canada Sales Grow for the 6th Consecutive Month

As the industry seems to sink deeper and deeper, Ford Canada has reasons to smile as it saw a 7.5 percent increase in its Canadian sales. The company’s sales are climbing for the sixth month in a row, basically due to the new award-winning Ford Fusion, which won Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year and Taurus, which was recently crowned "Best New Family Car" in the over $30,000 category by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada.

Ford also got some help from its Lincoln brand, which had a 49.8 sales increase due to its MKZ model. Oakville-built models like the Lincoln MKX, Ford Edge and Ford Flex also had an important part in helping Ford Motor Company of Canada reach these positive results.

"Ford of Canada retail sales are up nearly 13,500 units year-to-date, that's a nine per cent increase and total sales are up five per cent year-to-date, thanks to consumer demand for our award-winning products," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada.

Ford Canada has a market share of 15.4 percent, which is 0.4 percent more than November 2008. This increase seems to have occurred thanks to Ford’s policy of introducing new products like the Taurus, Flex and F-150.

"We continue to gain market share despite industry sales being down about four per cent," said Mondragon. "Customers are noticing and choosing our great new products with innovative technologies such as SYNC, MyKey and Active Park Assist."
