It's the final countdown. Fisher is teasing the upcoming Ronin flagship EV, set to be revealed on August 3. The carmaker credits it with impressive range, while the CEO of the company gives the best look of the model yet.
More than a year ago and six months ahead of the production start of their first model, the Ocean, Fisker revealed they were also working on the Project Ronin. "Thrills beyond speed," wrote the company’s official website back then.

Now it is the CEO and founder of the company himself, Henrik Fisker, the one who shares the photo teaser on his Instagram profile. He claims that the Ronin flagship will be "the ultimate long distance Grand Touring car." The photo posted on the social media network represents the most relevant image of the model so far.

The five-seater will be "super fast," Henrik Fisher writes, and the structural battery pack will store enough energy for 600 miles (965 kilometers). Those figures, if they are true, would make it the longest-range EV out there. But we've heard such plans before, so we won’t believe it until we see it.

Right now, Lucid is crediting the Air Dream Edition with a 520-mile range, and that is currently at the top of the ranking.

Not much on the performance of the upcoming Ronin has been revealed so far. But we do know that we should expect it to be capable of going from zero to hero (0-60 mph/0-97 kph) in around 2.0 seconds' time.

An Instagram post from Henrik Fisher revealed last year that the GT would be powered by three electric motors in an all-wheel drive setup. In January 2022, he had also shared a low-resolution black-and-white photo showing a head-turning front end of the upcoming Ronin.

But what we do know is that the Fisker Ronin will be a four-door convertible GT sports electric car, a territory yet uncharted, that will allegedly start at $200,000 when it will be ready, and that is 2025, if all goes according to plan. Production is slated for the second half of 2024.

The car will sport – as Fisker announced last year – "unique doors for better ingress and egress." What they mean by "unique" that is for all of us to see in less than a month. The photo recently shared on Instagram also reveals a retractable metal roof, muscular fenders, a rear LED bar stretching from one rear fender to the other, and massive wheels. The cabin will sport sustainable materials and a "new, advanced design direction." Again, we'll see next month what that is supposed to mean.

Fisker will reveal the Ronin, together with plans for its entire EV lineup, at the company’s inaugural investors’ event on August 3rd.

The carmaker is also working on the entry-level Pear, previewed by the Project Pear and set to hit the showrooms in 2025 with a price tag below $30,000. The model was initially scheduled to arrive in 2024 but eventually got delayed.

Fisker is currently selling the Ocean electric SUV. Deliveries kicked off in May. That means that those who have already reserved an example on the company's website will have a summer to remember. The model rolls off the assembly line of the Magna Steyr carbon-neutral factory in Graz, Austria.
