Fisker recently showed the world the production-ready version of the PEAR, whose name stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution. We wouldn't give a compact crossover such a majestic indication, but this one might actually deserve it. Here's why.
The Fisker PEAR is a five-seater or six-seater all-electric compact crossover that should have a starting price of $29,900. It's unclear what this sum will get prospective buyers, but it will most likely not be the version with over 300 miles (483 kilometers) of promised range on a full charge. Still, the vehicle is supposed to become a city dweller's solution to emission-free mobility.

The crossover is entering production in late 2024, with deliveries scheduled for the summer of 2025. The reservation process has been open for a week already. Fisker already confirmed that the model would qualify for the EV tax credit. While the Ocean is made in Austria, the PEAR will be manufactured in the US. It will most likely happen with Foxconn's help at the former Lordstown plant in Ohio.

Henrik Fisker famously said in front of the media, employees, and customers that every car his brand will make must come with four unique features. The PEAR has them.

It is a six-seater, thanks to the bench for those sitting in the front row. Don't worry - a five-seater version will be available too. The computer the vehicle will include, nicknamed the Blade, is plenty powerful and might be able to even process enough data to become autonomous. The liftgate is retractable like a BMW Z1's doors, and the front trunk is heated and cooled.

One could also add the solar roof to the list of unique features, but other EVs have such an option.

However, the coolest and, at the same time, intriguing PEAR feature must be the frunk (froot, if you're British or looking for clever puns). Instead of forcing owners to open the entire hood to store something in the place where an engine would have resided in a conventional car, the young automaker decided to make it a drawer.

The official introduction of the production-ready PEAR didn't show us how the frunk works, but a recent video published by the brand gives us a sneak peek at how this feature will function.

Although the PEAR boasts a retractable liftgate (dubbed the Houdini trunk) that hides in the rear bumper for easy access, the frunk glides forward, revealing a divided compartment. Three equally measuring sections seem to be covered in some type of carpet. The video below doesn't give us a good sense of the funky frunk's size, but it might be good enough for chargers and other accessories.

If this is the final design for the frunk, it's unlikely the cooling function will come in handy for drinks. But it is a unique implementation, so we can't wait to test it.

Lastly, the PEAR will most likely have the NACS connector, as Fisker signed the agreement with Tesla and is awaiting the "OK" from the Supercharger network owner.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
