Following in the footsteps of other players in the LCV business, Fiat has taken the veils off the Ducato Electric. Going on sale in 2020, the e-van promises multiple battery options with Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure ratings of between 220 and 360 kilometers (137 and 224 miles).
Available in all body variants and with similar load volumes as the conventional Ducato, the Ducato Electric features a payload of up to 1,950 kilograms. Maximum power and torque? Make that 90 kW (122 PS; 121 horsepower) and 280 Nm (207 pound-feet), thank you!

The Ducato Electric joins another alternative-fueled option in the Fiat Professional lineup, namely the Ducato that runs on natural gas. Developed with a strong focus on the total cost of ownership, the newcomer is aimed at early adopters of this technology. Some of those ventures are online commerce, postal and courier services, and food deliveries.

Being an all-electric commercial vehicle, this fellow here is limited to 100 km/h (62 mph) to optimize energy use. In other words, this van is an urban dweller rather than a highway cruiser. Nevertheless, the top speed is more than adequate given the technological limitations of 2019.

In terms of load volumes, the Ducato Electric is much obliged to take in up to 17 cubic meters of whatever you want to transport from point A to point B. At the other end of the spectrum, the entry-level model is rated at 10 cubic meters.

Given time, the Ducato Electric will also be known as the ProMaster Electric in the United States where Fiat Professional utilizes the Ram brand. The outgoing model features internal combustion, coming in the guise of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 280 horsepower on full song.

For the 2020 model year, the Ducato lineup also gains a nine-speed automatic transmission, Euro 6D engine options with Start & Stop and Eco mode, as well as lots of driver assistance. Full brake control, Rear Cross Path detection, Blind Spot Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and High Beam Recognition are a few of the highlights.
