Just like the rumors suggested, Ferrari has revealed a very cool limited edition model in order to thank its North American fans for 60 years of loialty. It's called the F60America and as you can see, this supercar puts a beautiful retro twist on the F12Berlinetta.
Only 10 of them will be produced and sold, right after the official unveiling tomorrow evening at an anniversary celebration gala dinner at Beverly Hills City Hall. Ferrari decided to make only 10 because it's the same number of 1967 275 GTS4 NART Spider models, the open version of the 275 GTB4. It's the famous Prancing Horse that importer Luigi Chinetti specifically requested from Enzo Ferrari for his US clients back in the day.

From a design point of view, this looks like the work of Ferrari Special Project division, the same people that built the F12 TRS only recently, a reportedly costing $4.5 million (EUR3.56 million). They also turned a 458 into Eric Clapton's SP12-EC.

The F560America is a chopped speedster, something you use only on special occasions. You can fit a light fabric top over the cabin, but it will only last at speeds of up to 75 mph (120 km/h).

Combines American clients’ two great passions, the V12 engine and open-top driving, Ferrari says

Let's forget about the lack of practicality for a second and examine the amazing cabin. This has an asymmetrical design that highlights the driver’s area with sporty red trim for the seat and a new dash. We also noticed that the console now features a floating design element, which looks like it came off the 458 Speciale. On the passenger's side, Ferrari used black, not to make your "guests" feel left out, but as a tribute to competition cars. The racing seats also feature a stylized American flag motif on the centre of each seat and backrest.

Without going too much into detail, the F60America is said to be powered by Ferrari’s mid-front-mounted V12 which "enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds." A stock F12 engine is probably under the hood, though nobody should be allowed to complain about something that sounds as good and makes 740 PS / 731 hp.

No pricing information is available at the moment and considering it only concerns 10 people in the whole world, it probably never will. Just as a reference, the standard F12 with no options is said to retail at $318,888 (over in Europe, that's EUR327,000 with a 19% tax rate). Looking at the models made, the F60America could be worth twice that.
