Six days ago, we wrote about a limited-edition Ducati Streetfighter V4 motorcycle, which also bears the Lamborghini name. At the time, the Borgo Panigale marque only had 630 plus 63 bikes available, and now, the company has announced that all the available units have been allocated in just a few hours. We don't know about you, but we call that a success.
The new model, which was born from the collaboration between Lamborghini and Ducati, was also the protagonist of the first Ducati World Premiere web series, an online event hosted by the Italian bike brand to unveil its latest products. It is important to note that Ducati and Lamborghini have previously collaborated on a bike before this one, and that one was inspired by the Sian, namely the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini series.
Now, the latest bike was made in the same limited number of units as its Diavel 1260 brother, 630. As you may have noticed, there are also 63 bikes mentioned above, which refers to the year 1963, when Lamborghini was founded.
Despite the collaboration with Lamborghini, the Streetfighter V4 will not have a different engine or other components related to its performance, but most people should consider the 208 horsepower (211 ps) and 91 lb.-ft. (123 Nm) of this unit sufficient for their requirements.
Therefore, Ducati will build 630 units in the Verde Citrea/Arancio Dac livery, as shown in the photo gallery, while the extra 63 units will be the “Speciale Clienti” series, which will only be available to 63 Lamborghini customers. Those lucky 63 will get to configure their Ducatis with the Centro Stile Ducati, just like their Lamborghini, but where colors and wheels are concerned.
Each motorcycle of these two special series will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which will ensure that it maintains value for years to come.
As usual with special editions, there will be people who will try to replicate these designs, and even some who will claim that theirs is part of the series, so if you ever get in the position of potentially acquiring something like this, be sure to ask for that certificate, as well as check the bike with your local Ducati dealership.
