Production of the Dodge Avenger sedan will come to a half by the end of the year, with no replacement to be introduced in the brand’s lineup for the 2015 model year.
According to The Truth About Cars, quoting sources familiar with the matter, the Avenger won’t be kept as a fleet-only vehicle either, meaning that the Dart will remain the sole mid-size sedan to wear a Dodge badge.
Sales of the Dodge Avenger will wrap up before the end of the year, by the time when the redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 will hit US dealerships.
The Dodge Avenger sedan was introduced in 2007 for the 2008 model year and shares the same JS platform with the Chrysler 200 and the Chrysler Sebring. Offered with a range of four-cylinder and V6 engines, the Avenger received a facelift for the 2011 model year. 2012 was its best sales year in the United States, with nearly 97,000 units delivered.
