Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) and DENSO Corporation have recently established a brand new company for manufacturing automotive air-conditioning compressors in China.
Named the Yantai Shougang TD Automotive Co., Ltd. (YST), the new plant located in Yantai City, Shandong Province, China, costed 3.68 billion yen to erect and is planing to produce 2 million compressors in the fiscal 2015.
Along with the further growth of the Chinese market, plans are in place to 2.5 million compressors in the 2017 fiscal year, from where it will continue to increment the production depending on conditions.
The 67,000 square meter facility is 50.1% part owned by Toyota Industries Corporation, 29.9% by Shougang Group and 20% by DENSO.
