When looking for a motorhome, camper van, or other type of recreational vehicle to support your outdoor adventures, it is particularly important to choose the right size and layout to meet your needs and tastes. Manufacturers know all too well that customers are all different and unique, that's why they are striving to diversify their offerings to appeal to as many prospective clients as possible.
German caravan and motorhome manufacturer Dethleffs, which is part of the Erwin Hymer Group, has an extensive lineup of camping vehicles outdoor enthusiasts can choose from. One of the latest additions to their portfolio is the Just Camp motorhome series, which, as its name suggests, offers everything you need for uncomplicated camping.

With an elegant design, modern interior, and good equipment, the new range of motorhomes makes it easy to get in, drive off, and enjoy the camping experience. It is meant to appeal to young outdoor enthusiasts who are just starting out in caravanning, but it would equally suit experienced campers who are looking for a comfortable home away from home.

Dethleffs is a well-known name on the caravan and motorhome scene, especially in Europe, and has already been awarded the German Fairness Prize not once but three times, which is a testament to their extensive expertise in RV manufacturing.

The Just Camp series of low-profile coachbuilts is available on the basis of the Citroen Jumper or Opel Movano, with seven different layouts offered to cover the most diverse requirements for mobile living. Though camper van conversions are the most popular type of rig among adventurers, coachbuilt motorhomes are preferred by those who want a bit more space and increased headroom inside.

These are also among the features that make Just Camp stand out. The airy interior of this range offers 6.9 feet (213 cm) of standing height and a spacious living space, with enough room for a kitchenette, a bathroom, a living/lounging area, and a sleeping space. Besides, there is still room left for your family, outdoor equipment, accessories, and baggage.

Starting with the cab upfront, owners will benefit from the latest technology and safety systems, including air conditioning, ESP, crosswind assist, cruise control, traction control, tire pressure sensors, and much more. There is also an openable window in the cab hood, allowing more light and air inside the vehicle.

Designed to offer the driver and passengers comfort above all, the front seats boast an integrated headrest and two armrests. They both swivel around fully to face the living/dining area, adding valuable extra seating and creating a nice space to enjoy dinner with guests.

The side entrance door is extra wide at 27.5 inches (70 cm) and comes with a flyscreen blind to keep insects away. The interior is elegant and fresh, dominated by a contemporary color palette of gray, white, and light timber, which add to the feeling of spaciousness.

All seven available layouts come with a maximum of five sleeping berths, with either a large double bed or twin single beds in the rear and an optional electrically operated pull-down bed over the dinette (measuring 200 x 150 cm). The twin beds can be optionally converted into a large sleeping area as well.

Regardless of the layout you choose, superlative sleeping comfort is guaranteed thanks to the 15-cm thick multi-zone cold foam mattresses and wooden slatted bed frames.

The T 6762 model, for instance, eschews the fixed bed in the back in favor of a two-person pull-down bed. This helps create an incredible feeling of space and plenty of elbow room and allows for a large rear bathroom that extends the entire width of the vehicle and a spacious kitchen. Two additional sleeping berths can be created by converting the seating lounge into a double bed.

In the layouts with a bed in the back of the motorhome (T 6752 DBL, T 7052 DBL, T 7052 DBM), this is set high enough to make room for a storage garage that can easily take a couple of bikes and can be loaded from both sides of the vehicle.

All but one configuration (the T 6762 model mentioned above) have central kitchenettes with washrooms at the foot of the beds. The kitchen is conveniently compact but modern and well set up so that you can cook your favorite meals on the go. It comes with a small round sink, a two-burner cooktop, and spacious cabinets and drawers that offer enough space for pots and pans.

The seating area is modern and comfortable, with two benches that hide some storage underneath. The table is removable in case you want to turn the area into a sleeping space. Moreover, the dinette side seat can optionally accommodate a fifth folding seat with a 3-point belt in case you are traveling with more family members.

Finally, the small bathroom is bright and modern. It includes all the basics to meet your sanitary needs, plus a practical mirror that can be moved sideways, various shelves, and storage units.

The lockers throughout the motorhome are handle-free and boast soft-close function, which gives them a sleek appearance and adds to the overall sense of quality and convenience.

Multiple windows and a large skylight above the sleeping space keep the interior well-lit, and LED spotlights have been installed in the seating lounge and bed area to ensure brightness even when the sun has set.

No pricing information is available on the manufacturer's website, but considering Dethleffs' Just 90 series starts from $166,000, we expect a similar price tag for the new Just Camp range. Thanks to their versatile interior configuration, generous living space, long list of standard equipment, and the multitude of storage solutions, these motorhomes are sure to appeal to couples and young families who want to try out the RV lifestyle without compromising on comfort.
