When’s the last time you climbed a hill going 26 mph (41 kph) on your longboard? Never, right? Unless you had the brass to hold on to your buddy's car bumper. If you didn’t, however, there’s always what you see here in the photo.
It’s all simple really. What you’re looking at is known as a conversion kit. And if you’ve put two and two together, by now you’ve also understood that it’s meant for our fellow wood pushers.

Recently, while you’ve been skipping out on your workouts, Unlimited and Loaded Boards have been busy bees, cranking out an entire line of e-conversion kits for sidewalk surfers. The line includes three major kits and an array of sub-kits. So far, we’ve gotten to know the Solo and Cruiser kits they offer, but now, it’s time for the strongest of the family, the Race kit.

Strongest also means more expensive. But don’t worry, it’s not some exaggerated number. Actually, what makes this kit so beautifully appealing is the fact that it’s only going to run you $1,199 (U.S. customers). Wait a minute, are we saying that you can have an awesome e-board for just a tad over a grand? Yes, we are!

If you want to get to know a bit about Unlimited and Loaded Boards, feel free to click the links for the Solo and Cruiser kits. Over here, we’re just going to focus on the Race kit and nothing else. So, what do we get, and why the hype?

Why the hype!? I don’t think you’ve understood what’s really happening here. Let me lay it out for you. The Race kit is the absolute peak of what an e-board conversion kit can do. Unlike its less expensive brethren, the Race includes not just one pocket-sized motor, but two.

Think about that for a second. Mankind has officially arrived at the level where a motor the size of a racketball can propel a rider weighing it at 240 lbs (127 kg) at speeds of 26 mph (41 kph). Plus, these puppies aren’t just fast, they’re also strong. How strong? Enough to keep you riding up a 20-degree hill strong. The days of trudging your board up a slope are over.

Powering these two motors is a pair of battery packs. These lithium-ion units each carry 90Wh of energy and are good enough to last for a 13-mile (21-km) run. Sure, it may not seem like much, but when’s the last time you’ve had this sort of speed and power under your feet? That’s what I thought. Anyway, this seemingly short range is just an illusion, as the battery packs are swappable. The more you carry in your backpack, the farther you’ll ride.

One of the beautiful things about the kit is it can be assembled anywhere. Everything you need is right there in the box. Whip it up while waiting for the bus, or put it together under the stares of all the folks in the skate park.

But if you’re the kind of person that doesn’t like to fidget around with bolts and nuts, just toss in an extra 250 bucks and get the full setup with the Tesseract or Icarus race kit, which include Loaded’s very own boards.

Listen, before I waste any more of your time with praise and all that jazz, take the time to click here and check out this wonder machine for yourself. If you’re a true sidewalk-surfer, you’ll be glad you did.
