No one knows for sure how many tuned copies of the second-gen Mercedes G-Wagen roam freely, as it feels like there is one lurking around each corner. But while most conversions are all about making it look sportier and a bit more muscular, Delta4x4's proposal is radically different.
Well, between us, it is not that radical; we are just a bit too excited about seeing an off-road-ready G-Wagen. And it is not about the enhanced looks and the off-road-ready stance either, as this package turns the regular G-Class into an unofficial 4×4².
Looking ready to take a swing at the jacked-up Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover Defender, and other 4x4s modified for attacking arduous courses, it features a tweaked front bumper with integrated lights. Further up, the main clusters sit behind the new protective elements, and there is a fresh bulging hood on deck, too.
Contributing to its menacing stance and making it look more like the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4² is the roof rack that features additional lights right above the front windshield and also improves the premium truck's hauling capability. The extra widened fenders tie it to the real 4×4², and courtesy of the generous ground clearance, it "comes eye to eye with the G 4×4²," according to Delta4x4's social media post shared below.
Joining the 100 mm (3.9 in) lift kit are the Eibach springs that give it an additional 50 mm (2 in) between its belly and the road. The massive 37-inch tires that were wrapped around the new wheels improve the traction on slippery and/or sticky surfaces. Combined with the jacked-up stance, this G-Wagen 4×4²-wannabe can tackle more serious obstacles than its stock self in the wilderness. Contrasted by several blacked-out elements, the matte orange paint finish completes the makeover.
