What we have here is a low-mileage Bugatti Chiron of the beautiful variety. Not that they’re not all absolutely gorgeous, but this one happens to feature an amazing spec. Sadly, it’s no longer for sale because somebody just “stole” it for roughly half a million dollars under MSRP.
If you scour the web, you’ll find that the average price of a used Bugatti Chiron (the regular Chiron) is $3.5 million, and most of those have been driven a few thousand miles. Most of them are actually a bit more expensive, but occasionally some will drop below that $3.5 million mark, although not by much.

The one we’re showing you here is what you might call an outlier. It only has 1,867 miles on its quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 masterpiece of an engine, yet it was just sold by a dealership in California for $3,075,000, which is well below its original MSRP of $3,501,050 – this had over $503,000 in options.

Frankly, I’m a bit surprised. The main reason being that this didn’t come with a higher reserve (it was won at auction).

Another reason is this: are hypercars finally getting cheaper too? We’ve already witnessed this trend with high-end muscle cars and limited-edition super cars that initially traded hands for way over MSRP. Yet, the Corvette Z06s and Demon 170s of the world are finally going down in value. If hypercars are next, well, then we’re really going to be in for a treat.

Anyway, let’s take a closer look at the spec on this 2018 Chiron. It comes with an exposed carbon fiber dark blue exterior (stunning), a Nocturne-painted horseshoe grille, black taillight trim, black anodized dual-exit exhaust system, additional carbon fiber elements (front splitter, rear wing, diffuser), and staggered-width Caractere wheels (also finished in Nocturne) with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, plus titanium calipers finished in Italian Red.

Moving on to the cockpit, highlights include the Italian Red leather carbon fiber sport seats, matching leather upholstery on the dashboard, center console and door panels, various carbon fiber and aluminum trim, automatic climate control, sat-nav, a seven-speaker Accuton sound system, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with both carbon fiber and Italian Red leather trim.

As for that previously-mentioned quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16, you already know what it can do – no fewer than 1,479 horsepower get sent to all four wheels, along with 1,180 lb-ft of torque. This allows you to hit 60 mph in a little over 2 seconds flat, while 0-124 mph takes 6.5 seconds, and 0-186 mph is achieved in 13.6 seconds.

The top speed is electronically limited to 261 mph (420 kph), which let’s face it, is more than enough. Even if you live in Germany and have access to their Autobahn system, you should probably think twice about going that fast on public roads.
