Dacia offers a welcome safety boost to Jogger, Sandero and Sandero Stepway customers in the UK with a comprehensive driver assistance package offered at no additional cost. The new safety tech was added to ensure that all three models comply with the new GSR2 regulations for cars sold in the UK and EU.
The new European Global Safety Regulation 2 (GSR2) legislation will enforce stricter safety assistance requirements for new cars sold from July 6, 2024. The legislation was necessary to reduce the number of road casualties in the EU and UK. Many considered that the new requirements, which also apply to existing models, would raise the prices or force carmakers to drop some models from their offer.

However, Dacia is able to boost the safety assistance package of the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Jogger in the UK without raising prices. Being built on Renault's CMF-B platform, these three models were already capable of offering advanced assistance systems. After all, these technologies were already offered on Renault models like Clio and Captur sharing the same platform.

The trio of models, starting with the entry-level Essential trim, will be sold as standard with a host of driver assistance systems. These include intelligent speed assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), driver drowsiness and attention warning, rear parking sensors, and automatic headlights. Dacia offers a quick access button to these functions to deactivate some of them as necessary, but the system resets itself every time the car is started.

The entire Dacia range now includes a Rescue QR Code that is visible on the windscreen and the rear window. This allows firefighters to find all the information they need to safely extract the passengers in the event the car is involved in an accident. The safety enhancements are not the only changes in the Dacia lineup, with more convenience and comfort features offered for free.

Dacia Jogger, Sandero and Sandero Stepway now come with USB-C ports as standard. The Jogger Hybrid 140 also features a new 7-inch digital instrument panel, first seen on the all-new Dacia Duster. The hybrid model also gained an E-Save function, allowing drivers to preserve charge for use later in the journey. The Sandero now features new two-tone Atara Flex wheels and Randia alloy wheels on selected versions. In addition to the two-tone dark Atara Flex wheels, the Sendero Stepway can be ordered with dark Randia alloy wheels that are shared with the Jogger.

Both the Sandero and Sandero Stepway can be ordered with the Shadow Grey and Cedar Green shades previously reserved for the Jogger and Extreme trim-equipped cars. The Sandero Stepway is also the only Dacia to be offered with the new Safari Beige finish. The Sandero continues to be offered with a £13,795 starting price, with the Sandero Stepway and Jogger priced from only £15,295 and £18,295.
