Dodge has managed to keep the aging Challenger (and its Charger sibling) on the competitive side of the market by constantly upgrading it over the years. Moreover, the company has also rolled out multiple hot versions of the muscle car, topping them with the latest Demon.
Christened the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, it is one of the fastest vehicles on the planet. With E85 in the tank, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which was almost entirely rebuilt, yanks out no less than 1,025 horspower (1,040 ps/765 kW) and 945 pound-feet (1,281 Nm) of torque.

According to Dodge, you are looking at an earth-shattering 1.66 seconds to sixty mph (97 kph) from rest in perfect conditions. Dodge's Demon 170 does not need any outside work to run the quarter mile in less than eight seconds. The official time is 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph (243.28 kph). All of this in a car wrapped in a $96,666 starting price, excluding destination.

Its predecessor, namely the original Demon that builds on the same iteration of the Dodge Challenger is also worth your attention, even if it may not be as punchy and fast. The 6.2-liter V8 engine that is also supercharged develops up to 840 hp (852 ps/627 kW) and 770 lb-ft (1,044 Nm) of torque. It is a nine-second car down the quarter mile and needs only 2.3 seconds to sixty mph.

Depending on how many miles they have under their belts and how crazy their vendors are, the normal Dodge Challenger SRT Demons can cost upwards of $200,000 on the used car market today. We have even seen one listed for grabs for an eye-watering $550,000 earlier this year, and we don't know if it changed hands in the meantime, as the ad was taken down.

The pictured Demon, which is not in the ultra-hot 170 configuration, was for sale at one point. However, Roadshow International, which stands behind the modifications that have made it look even more aggressive, states that it found itself a new owner, who likely paid a small fortune for it. We would've certainly whined all the way to the bank if we could afford it and would've probably ruined the rear tires entirely by the time we got home.

Sitting 30 mm (1.2 in) closer to the ground than the stock one, this Demon rides on a set of five-spoke alloys with Forgiato center caps. It has a satin black look, tinted windows all around, and a leather interior. Contrasting the sinister look of this muscle car are a few purple accents that can be seen on the front splitter, brake calipers, exterior logos, and multiple parts of the interior. We think this is a great look for this dreamy muscle car, and we are certain you agree, don't you?
