Color-Shifting Lexus LX 600 Premium Sports a Kitchen in the Rear

Camping has gained traction in the past few years. The pandemic, as well as the financial crisis that followed, pushed some people away from crowded resorts and into traveling to remote places. Lexus knows it and has come up with a build that is just right for this kind of holiday. It is the Lexus LX 600 Premium AAP (Associated Accessory Product) Build.

The luxury sibling of the Toyota Land Cruiser, this off-road-ready Lexus LX is specifically designed for those who are into paddle boarding but, obviously, not exclusively for them. Lexus wrapped the entire vehicle in a color-shifting Aquamarine body wrap, an allusion to the shades of the water changing under the sunlight.

There is a contrasting matte gray radiator grille up front, while black chrome shows up around the windows, on door handles, side mirrors, and on the bumper as part of the appearance package. Dark roof rails round up the looks of the LX 600. The car rides on 18-inch matte gray wheels with 33-inch Toyo Open Country A/T tires.

For the moments when occupants get hungry during their off-road adventure or after paddle boarding in the sun, the trailer hitch holds a Yakima EXO OpenRange Deluxe camp kitchen that can extend, letting out a cooktop, a fridge, and a sink, all just right for preparing meals for the entire paddle crew.

A quick-deploying Kammok Crossing Car Awning provides protection from direct sunlight and rain while spending time outdoors. To make this car a real helper for the adventure seekers, a Yakima SupDawg rooftop stand-up paddle board and surfboard mount are installed on the Prinsu Roof Rack. Lexus does not offer any sleeping solutions in the LX, so it will only be a one-day trip for those on board.

This 2022 Lexus LX 600 is powered by the 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 409 horsepower (415 PS) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque, delivered to both axles via a ten-speed automatic transmission.

Tech such as the Multi-Terrain Monitor, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control make the SUV a force of nature in the off-road. Drivers can select one of the six driving modes available through the Muti-Terrain Select system (Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock), depending on the surface that they drive on.

The LX 600 Premium AAP Build is one of the three custom SUVs that Lexus took to Las Vegas. Number 2 is the 2024 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail+ AAP Build, with the 2022 Lexus GX 460 Premium AAP Build rounding up the list of exhibits that the luxury carmaker took to SEMA this year.
