During Ferrari Month, we sparked a whole lot of debate whether or not all Ferraris should be painted red. We also found a bunch of them that looked good in British Racing Green, while today, we're going to show you Aston Martin's version of a "Pink Pig" Porsche.
This is the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, though not the one you know. This 1990s sports coupe is codenamed the V550, which kind of makes it sound like a Mustang or an AMG family member. In a way, that's accurate, and the history of this model has a lot in common with the current problems faced by European sports cars.

The Vantage was designed like a response to American muscle cars. It doesn't have the small frame of James Bond's DB5 and instead resembles a Mustang fastback from many angles. Toward the end of its life, the V8 Vantage also had a lot of problems from emissions regulators. Let's not forget that its modern counterpart is about to get six-cylinder engines.

Anyway, we have to answer the question of how come this thing is pink. Well, back in the 80s and 90s, Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell could do just about any custom paint you wanted. This was an era before everybody wrapped their new supercars or fitted aftermarket exhaust.

Classic Driver recently discovered this unique example of the 1998 series and while the color is dubbed British Racing Pink, it looks a lot like Porsche's troll racing shade of pink. All it needs are the lines telling you where the prime cuts are.

The interior is equally unique, blending deep pink and orange Connolly leather, cream carpets, and light-brown wood veneer. You wouldn't exactly call it girly. However, the pink Aston is probably significantly more expensive than that pink dress shirt at the back of your closet that you never wear.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
