Even though Citroen is pushing the Aircross lineup throughout Europe as an alternative to people carriers, the Grand C4 SpaceTourer soldiers on for 2020 with seating for seven and an expanded list of standard equipment. The 1.2-liter PureTech S&S engine is also new, packing a six-speed manual for the not-so-princely price of £25,935 in the United Kingdom.
It’s better to opt for the EAT8 automatic transmission, though, because this combination complies to the Euro 6.3 (a.k.a. Euro 6d) emissions standard. In other words, this engine with this gearbox meet the European regulations that will come into effect in 2021 for existing passenger vehicles.

130 horsepower and start/stop are other highlights, and the BlueHDi turbo diesel comes with 130 ponies from the get-go as well. The most potent option, however, is the BlueHDi 160 that’s mated exclusively to the EAT8 transmission. The most expensive Grand C4 SpaceTourer in the UK is the Flair Plus with the aforementioned drivetrain, priced at £34,560 on-the-road.

It should be mentioned that 2019 trim levels will be replaced in October for the 2020 model year by the Touch Plus, Feel Plus, and Flair Plus. Each of them offers more standard equipment, starting with a 12-inch central display, Citroen Connect Nav, a three-year subscription to TomTom Live, and a built-in SIM slot for the Citroen Connect Box Emergency and Assistance System.

Mid-range trims now come with Slate Grey leather and black Ondulice cloth upholstery, rear parking camera, keyless entry, active safety brake, driver attention alert, and speed limit recognition. At the top of the range, the Flair Plus adds Xenon headlamps with intelligent beam technology, active lane departure warning, and active cruise control. Not bad for such an old MPV, right?

The second generation of the compact MPV entered production in 2013 at the Vigo plant in Spain, and since then, very few modifications and improvements were brought to what was once known as the Grand C4 Picasso. The EMP2 platform on which it’s based has been improved in 2017 with the arrival of the C5 Aircross, which can be had with e-AWD in plug-in hybrid flavor.
