Chrysler Group LLC today announced it has sold 140,102 vehicles last month, an 11 percent increase compared with July 2012 and the company’s best July sales since 2006. Also, July 2013 was the group’s 40th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.
Four brands within the Chrysler Group reported sales increases last month compared with July 2012, with Ram Truck leading the pack with a gain of 31 percent. Dodge brand sales went up 18 percent in July, while Jeep and Fiat posted an increase of 2 percent each.
In addition, Chrysler says that six of its vehicles set sales record in the month of July - the Dodge Avenger, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Dart, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Compass and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“We continue to see strong retail sales, particularly with our pickup trucks and SUVs, and that has helped to propel Chrysler Group to our 40th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth,” said Reid Bigland, Head of US sales. “In addition, the all-new Fiat 500L is off to a great start with 962 units sold in its first full month on sale.”
