It's one thing to test the competition's cars when you work for Skoda, for example, and an entirely different thing when your name is Christian von Koenigsegg.
Well, this is probably one of the many perks the Swedish high-performance automobiles manufacturers gets to enjoy. After all, besides seeing what his opponents are up to, he gets to drive his own creations on a regular basis.

Creations like the 2008 Koenigsegg CCXR you are about to see in the video below, a car capable of squeezing up to 1,018 PS out of its 4.7-liter Twin supercharged DOHC V8 engine when run on E85/E100 Biofuel. This number makes it the perfect match for the original Bugatti Veyron, a car famous for its 1,001 hp and over one million euros price tag (which wasn't enough to make it profitable, though).

We could be talking about torque as well, but since it's a rolling start duel, that might not be all that important. However, the nearly 200 Nm the Veyron has over the CCXR could be a little deceiving, as the Bug is also a lot heavier. In fact, the Koenigsegg CCXR is what you could call "ultra-lightweight" with its 1,280 kg (2,821 lbs).

The situation isn't looking very bright for the Veyron, but not that it minds. The Veyron is and always will be the flashiest car of its time, even though the Koenigsegg CCXR with its 1,018 PS quickly stole its other prestigious title: the most powerful production car.

With the stacks against it, the Bugatti Veyron has to face another big problem: it's being driven by the man who has all the reasons in the world to make the car look bad. Still, just like the Veyron is so self-assured it doesn't care about the outcome of this mini impromptu race, we're pretty sure mr. Christian von Koenigsegg isn't the kind of guy to cheat. After all, this is a win-win situation for him.

But enough talk, we'll leave you with the action.
